The existing two/three-story building was a grade II listed building, consisting of two 17th-century houses that have been converted into multiple apartments. Unfortunately, the building was in a severe state of disrepair and was deemed unsafe due to the rotted oak frame and displaced brick infills. Our task was to conduct detailed building inspections and provide recommendations for necessary repair work. Additionally, we were responsible for designing the necessary temporary works during the construction phase to ensure the safety and stability of the building.
TOWNEND HOUSE, KINGSTON
The three-story block with twelve flats required a structural inspection, and we were tasked with assessing the feasibility of replacing both staircases. Our role also involved providing advice on the best course of action and creating a method statement for dismantling the steel structure. This was a crucial task to ensure the safety and structural integrity of the building. We were hired by the client to conduct a thorough inspection and provide a detailed report on the issue, as well as recommendations for remediation work. It's crucial to address the subsidence promptly to ensure the safety and stability of the property.
